Our Midwifery Services
Homebirth care.
Shire Midwifery offers safe, evidence‑based homebirth care for women who want a calm, familiar environment for their birth. With continuity from pregnancy through postpartum, you’re supported by a known midwife who understands your preferences.
I provide full homebirth care including antenatal preparation, labour and birth support, waterbirth options, and comprehensive postnatal follow‑up in your home. All care follows current Australian midwifery standards and safety guidelines.
Homebirth is a safe option for healthy women with uncomplicated pregnancies — and a beautiful way to welcome your baby in a space where you feel relaxed, supported, and in control.
Homebirth or Hospital Birth
- Complete labour care for mum and baby
- All standard birth and safety equipment included for homebirths
- Birth pool and liner for homebirth
- Second experienced Midwife present for the birth at home
- Use of Elle TENS machine, Sterile water injections and optional Nitros Oxide Gas
Antenatal / Postnatal Care
- Comprehensive history taking
- Optional screening tests and ultrasounds
- Labour and Birth education
- Assessments of mum and baby
- Lactation Consultation, sleep & settling and transition to parenting support

Telehealth call Bulk-billed
Available for eligible antenatal & postnatal appointments. These are provided within Medicare guidelines and are bulk-billed where applicable for clients with a valid Medicare card. Some appointments, assessments or follow-ups may require an in-person visit for safe, comprehensive care.
Shire Midwifery offers individual appointments or packages of care, with no hidden costs.
